Man charged in parade case was out on bail
The man accused of driving his car into a Christmas parade in the US state of Wisconsin, killing five people and injuring dozens, was out on bail from a domestic abuse case and was suspected to be in a violent altercation that day. The accused, Darrell Edward Brooks, 39, was arrested in Waukesha on Sunday and faces five counts of firstdegree homicide, Waukesha police chief Daniel Thompson said. Forty-eight people were injured, including children, six of whom remained in critical condition on Monday, authorities said. At about the time of the incident, police had received a complaint of a domestic disturbance involving Brooks and a knife, but were unable to respond because they were preoccupied with the parade, Mr Thompson said.
