Fiji orders seizure of Russia-linked yacht
A Fijian court yesterday ordered the seizure of a $325 million superyacht reportedly owned by Russian oligarch Suleiman Kerimov. The 107-metre Amadea has been berthed at Lautoka in the west of the Pacific island nation, allegedly without customs clearance, since it arrived from South America last month. Mr Kerimov is under US and EU sanctions over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and an American warrant for the luxury vessel’s seizure was filed last month, Fiji’s director of public prosecutions said. The Amadea has a pool, Jacuzzi, helipad, and “winter garden” on the sun deck, according to website superyachtfan.com, which tracks the vessels of the rich.
