WHAT ARE NASA’S ASTRONAUT PINS?

Nasa awards lapel pins to astronauts who complete basic training. They have been distributed since 1963. The silver pins are awarded to those who complete the training, but have not yet travelled to space. Gold pins are given to astronauts who have been on missions to space. Maj Hazza Al Mansouri was awarded a gold pin during Sunday’s ceremony, while Dr Sultan Al Neyadi received a silver one.
