LEADERS FROM REGION IN ABU DHABI TO MOURN SHEIKH KHALIFA
▶ Heads of state and government leaders travel to the UAE capital to pay their respects, following his death on Friday

Regional heads of state and government leaders who came to Abu Dhabi yesterday to express their condolences at the death of Sheikh Khalifa. Those visiting included Sultan Haitham of Oman, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Iraqi President Barham Salih.
Also in attendance were Tunisian President Kais Saied and Gen Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan.
Other Gulf leaders who were in Abu Dhabi to give their condolences included Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, governor of Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, Prince Hossam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, governor of Al Baha Region, and Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Energy Minister, Prince Dr Abdulaziz bin Sattam bin Abdulaziz, Adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Saudi Minister of Sports, and Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
From Bahrain, Prince Salman bin Hamad, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his son, Sheikh Isa bin Salman, were in attendance.
Also in attendance were Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al Sabah, Kuwait’s Prime Minister and representative of the Emir of Kuwait, and Sheikh Jassim Al Thani, the personal representative of the Emir of the State of Qatar.
From Iraq, Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi, Speaker of Parliament Mohammed Al Halbousi, and Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdish region Masrour Barzani, joined President Barham Salih in offering their condolences.
In addition, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Prime Minister of Algeria Ayman Benabderrahmane, Mansour Azzam, the representative of the Syrian President, and Qurban Quli Berid Mammadov, the head of the Senate in Turkmenistan, were received in Abu Dhabi.
Accepting condolences with Sheikh Mohamed were Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, representative of the Ruler in Al Dhafra Region, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative.
Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed, National Security Adviser, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, were also in attendance.
Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Khalifa, Adviser to the UAE President and Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan, Minister of State, were also present when the regional heads of state and government leaders visited.
