Can you hear those whoops of joy? That’s carb-lovers around the city re­act­ing to the news that three new Ital­ian restau­rants are now in town. Pasta, pizza and more bur­rata than you can shake a panini at, check out the latest ar­rivals, pronto.


Housed in the brand-new Stella Di Mare ho­tel, this restau­rant is set to open shortly and has artsy in­te­ri­ors, ap­par­ently in­spired by the flair of painter Leonardo da Vinci. Dishes are tra­di­tional in­clud­ing beef tartare, spaghetti ca­cao e pepe and gnoc­chi with lob­ster ragout. Main cour­ses in­clude tur­bot with creamy gar­lic pota­toes, duck with mango and grape­fruit sauce, lamb rack and beef ten­der­loin. Mean­while there are desserts such as cof­fee granita.

This new spot at Le Royal Méri­dien Beach Re­sort & Spa prom­ises a “tra­di­tional warm trat­to­ria at­mos­phere”. Dé­cor is rus­tic, while there’s also an al fresco pa­tio over­look­ing the sea. Food comes from head chef Chris­tian Car­ri­eri, who said, “Our menu con­sists of au­then­tic, well­known dishes such as spaghetti as well as re­gional in­ter­pre­ta­tions such as ravi­oli bur­rata with cherry tomato sauce.”

Look­ing for some­thing suit­ably swanky? This posh new Venetian serves up “tra­di­tional dishes with a twist”. all’onda comes from top US chef Chris Jaeckle and there’s an in­no­va­tive menu that blends Ital­ian and Ja­panese cui­sine, packed full of seafood, pasta, risot­tos and Venetian chic­chetti – lit­tle bites served with drinks.
