ON YOUR FIRST visit to The Irish Village, you might wonder where to nd the actual pub, among the long row of vintage shopfronts.
But it turns out that every single façade is a part of the sprawling and unique venue, right down to the authenticlooking bric-a-brac shop.
The Irish Village is one of those rare bars that’s universally loved by every single person who visits.
The young, the old, Dubai newbies and long-time city veterans all come back to this place time and time again – perching by the traditional wooden bar or (far more likely) taking in the sunshine at one of the many wooden tables out the front of the pub.
Squeezed under the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, the pub boasts a huge garden area and is largely enclosed, giving it a true village vibe. And it feels like it’s full of regulars. So popular is the pub that it even has its own (real) gift shop on site.
New pubs across the city frequently try to muster up this kind of atmosphere, but it’s something that’s impossible to create arti cially. This is the real deal.
With frequent big concerts and live performances to keep the crowds entertained over the years, as well as showing live sport (the World Cup terraces were particularly impressive) this venue goes all out to ensure everyone is having a good time.
Drinks aren’t going to break the bank, while there’s a big menu of Irish fare, from stews to soda bread and more, to keep hunger pangs at bay.
Whatever the formula, The Irish Village has cracked it – or should that be craiced it – and that’s why it’s won our Pub of the Year award many a time.
So what are you waiting for? Order a pint of the black stuff and a sausage sarnie and you’ll be a happy pubgoer.
