RAK to add new power sta­tions

The six new sta­tions to in­clude a 132/33/11 KVA power sta­tion

The Fed­eral Elec­tric­ity and Wa­ter Author­ity (Fewa) has an­nounced that it will build six new power sta­tions at the cost of Dh490mn in the new res­i­den­tial ar­eas of Ras Al Khaimah by 2020.

Mo­hammed Saleh, di­rec­tor-gen­eral of Fewa, said more power is needed for the new res­i­den­tial ar­eas in the emi­rate.

“The same ap­plies to the new and on­go­ing in­dus­trial projects, leave alone the prop­erty in­vest­ment projects at the Al Mar­jan Is­land, Al Hamra and RAK ma­rine city.

“The six new power sta­tions are in pur­suance of the di­rec­tives of the pru­dent lead­er­ship to boost the in­fra­struc­ture ca­pac­ity and at­tract more in­vest­ments.”

The new sta­tions in­clude a 132/33/11 KVA power sta­tion, with a ca­pac­ity of 270 MV

The new sta­tions in­clude a 132/33/11 KVA power sta­tion, with a ca­pac­ity of 270 MV to be built at Al Raq area against Dh145 mil­lion, he ex­plained.

“An­other 132/33/11 KVA power sta­tion, with a ca­pac­ity of 270 MV, will be built at Al Hamra area where some ca­bles will be ex­tended at the cost of Dh145 mil­lion.”

Four more 33/11 KVA power sta­tions, worth Dh200 mil­lion, will be built at Al Mar­jan Is­land, as well as Jul­phar, Al Fi­laya and Azan ar­eas.
