A TOUCHING TRIBUTE AT GIVENCHY

Villa 88 - - Style -

All eyes were on Givenchy’s Clare Waight Keller this Couture season. After she designed the Duchess of Sussex’s wedding gown, fashion’s elite couldn’t wait to see the wedding dress of the season. Although not the typical bridal gown, there were a few white off-the-shoulder contenders paired with metallic headpieces – perhaps a modern take on the tiara? However, it was Clare’s tribute to Hubert de Givenchy, who passed away this year, that stole the show. Hubert’s affiliation to Audrey Hepburn was present throughout, with Breakfast at Tiffany’s LBD inspired gowns and 1950s frocks reinterpreted in her own modern way. All the while, models walked to Audrey Hepburn’s Moon River, a touching moment and moving tribute to Monsieur Givenchy himself.
