Can ingredients from the kitchen pantry give you a glowing face?

While you might not necessarily think of carrots, oatmeal or honey as ideal products to be slathered on your face, maybe it’s high time you should. The Rose Crystal Lymphatic Facial treatment at Sisters Beauty Lounge uses products from all-natural British brand The Organic Pharmacy, for a spa session that promises to give you a glowing complexion.

Dubbed a luxury facial, the signature treatment sees you receive a gentle exfoliation, steam, extraction, along with four mask applications to soothe your skin.

First, a carrot butter cleanser is used to remove make-up, oil and other impurities. The cleanser is a cult favourite with beauty aficionados here in Abu Dhabi and it’s easy to see why. It’s buttery soft, doesn’t over-dry your skin and smells good. Then comes a very gentle exfoliation from a cream made with oatmeal. There’s a few more serums and creams added on in between before our face is given a steam.

The only slightly uncomfortable portion of the experience is the extractions of pesky blackheads from the nose. However, you can opt out if you’d rather avoid it. Four masks and a handful of deliciously smelling serums later, you are then treated to a pressure point massage. Afterwards, ovalshaped rose crystals are slowly rolled across your face and neck to help stimulate blood circulation and give you that sought-after glow. While our skin looked and felt amazing, the best thing about the treatment is that while waiting for each mask to take full effect, you are given mini-massages for different portions of your body – feet, arms, scalp, and back – for added relaxation. So by the end of the session, not only does your face feel refreshed, but so does your body.
