Zayed National Museum launches second series of talks on Saadiyat Island
Want to learn more about the ancient elephant-like creatures that once roamed the UAE? Or discover more about Sheikh Zayed’s humanitarian projects around the world? Then check out the special talks being held as part of the Multaqa Zayed National Museum Series. Hosted until June 2016 on Saadiyat Island, these public events will see you learn more about the history of the county.
This month, on April 13, residents can attend a lecture that looks at how centuries of trade have influenced the musical traditions, instruments and songs of the UAE in Music Of A Nation: Cultural Harmony. Other talks will focus on the beauty of the Emirati Arabic dialect and archaeological research about the animal fossils discovered right here in the Emirates.
Each lecture will also be followed by interactive workshops – think creating mini instruments (April 14) to making fossils (June 2). Aimed at families, workshops will be held in Studio 2 of Manarat Al Saadiyat from 4.30pm to 6.30pm and have a Dhs50 participation fee.
The lecture series will be held at the Manarat Al Saadiyat and is free to attend. Seating is limited, so prior reservations are required. Until June
