this month, abu Dhabi hosts an event called the largest video games and digital entertainment expo in the Middle East – and the good news is it’s not just for developers and industry types...

1. ANGELHACK

A competition that sees teams build an app (chosen by the judges) in 24 hours from scratch.

2. INDIE GAME DEVFEST

Another competition – this time to see who has come up with the best indie game here in the region. Guests of the conference can come and test out the games themselves and give the designers their feedback.

3. EXHIBITION AREA

While the conference is for paying attendees, you don’t have to splash out Dhs500 for a ticket to get a taste of what’s on offer. This free space is open to all and will have exhibitors on display. May 10 and 11
