The acai berry is a real hip­ster su­per­food right now, thanks in part be­cause it’s packed with an­tiox­i­dants and fi­bre, and it’s claimed it can aid weight loss and even im­prove cir­cu­la­tion. The Raw Place’s acai bowl is made of acai pow­der, straw­ber­ries, blue­ber­ries, goji berries, ba­nana, chia seeds, al­mond but­ter and al­mond ‘mylk’ (con­sist­ing of al­monds, dates and pink Hi­malayan salt).

Nat­u­ral Kitchen on Reem Island sells ice cream (and cheese­cakes) made by Coco Yogo, the UAE’s first raw, ve­gan and gluten-free dessert on­line shop that was set up back in 2012. The puds are free of dairy, soy, corn, gluten, eggs and re­fined su­gar, and are ve­gan.
