KOTOR OLD TOWN

What's On (Abu Dhabi) - - ACTIVE -

It looks like it’s just fallen off a (photoshopped) postcard, but this living, breathing museum of a town is actually a Unesco World Heritage site, and with good reason. The cobbled streets, picturesque green shutters, chiming clock towers and wine-bar stocked squares might seem reminiscent of a Disney movie, but this is still every inch a working town, with a fascinating history the chatty locals will be only to proud to fill you in on. Top tip: You’ll have to climb up 1,200 stairs to reach the top, but a hike up the town walls will reward visitors with one of the most breathtaking views of the Boka Kotorska (Bay Of Kotor) around – and in a country replete with breathtaking views, that’s no small accolade. Reward yourself after the climb down with stunningly fresh seafood in the harbour below.
