Grand Slam cham­pi­ons No­vak Djokovic and Venus Wil­liams are com­ing to Abu Dhabi

Next year, 7,000 ath­letes from more than 170 coun­tries are ex­pected to par­tic­i­pate across 24 sports at the Spe­cial Olympics, as the event comes to the Mid­dle East for the first time in its his­tory.

The sport­ing spec­ta­cle en­cour­ages peo­ple with in­tel­lec­tual dis­abil­i­ties to play along­side each other, de­velop phys­i­cal fit­ness and make friends.

To as­sist, vol­un­teers have to be at least 14 years old and com­mit to a min­i­mum of four shifts dur­ing the games. Vol­un­teers will also be re­quired to at­tend 16 hours of train­ing ahead of the games.
