Scarlett Johansson, take note – this is how live-action adaptations of classic manga are supposed to be made. Part- Pinocchio, part- Blade

Runner, this post-apocalyptic action film follows a junk yard android called Alita (Rosa Salazar) who’s bodged back to life by a cyber-doctor called Ido (Christoph Waltz). But of course an army of sadistic cyborgs want Alita unplugged, resulting in some seriously slick battle sequences. Before the script landed in director Rodriguez’s lap, it was originally written by James Cameron – and if this is a precursor to Avatar 2, 2020 can’t come soon enough.
