CHRISTMAS COMES BUT ONCE A YEAR…
It’s probably just as well, given the huge amount of work that goes into it. I remember a time when all I had to worry about was writing a letter to the big man, and acting like an angel in the lead up to prove I was worthy of the latest Turbo Quad roller skates (they were a big deal in my town in the ‘90s, OK?). But now? It’s making sure everyone has the right present to Instagram, but most importantly sorting out where – and what – you’re going to eat and do to entertain family and friends. Luckily, here at What’s On we laugh in the face of Christmas planning. Yes, we have everything covered for a happy festive season in the capital (p12) from where to go, what to do and what to eat. Ding-dong merrily high-five!
Away from Christmas, and we still have a tonne of things to tell you about. We reveal all the big winners in our annual What’s On Awards – turn to p28 to see if your favourite won – while it’s been another busy month for the team who’ve been once again stuffing their faces in the name of journalism (p44). Plus, we’ve got the lowdown on this month’s Mubadala World Tennis Championship (p22) including free tickets to give away – perfect for that last minute Christmas gift.
Enjoy the issue and, if you celebrate it, Merry Christmas!
