Even if the waitstaff don’t speak your language, don’t let that stop you from trying it. While it may be intimidating to not know ‘how to do’ a cuisine, your curiosity is appreciated and will be rewarded. You may even find some curiosity-seeking diners stepping up to help you with the menu. After all, this may be their national cuisine, and they’re passionate enough about it to help. So, don’t be too shy to ask a perfect stranger for advice. Beyond discovering a new cuisine, you may find a new food-loving friend.
