Do you remember Gladiators, the British TV show? It was perhaps the pinnacle of 1990s entertainment, with its WWE-style bravado and unfortunate haircuts. Well, you’re not the only one feeling nostalgic – a brand new event in Dubai aims to capture some of that competitive fun.
Dubai Gladiators is a three-day event in Sports City in which wannabes of all ages can compete, either as corporate teams (Thursday), individuals (Friday) or regular teams (Saturday). The tournament includes archery, Gladiatorsstyle podium jousting and an obstacle course, all in the air-conditioned hall of Sports City’s The Dome.
There’ll also be a free climbing wall, bouncy castle, places to grab a bite to eat and a licensed bar. By the way, fancy dress is encouraged so dig out your gladiator sandals. September 17 to 19
