What's On (Dubai)

EDITOR’S LETTER

- @Evs_Dubai

MMy mate Matt loves Oasis. I say love, but it’s more of an obsession; he pretty much lives and breathes the band, and what he doesn’t know about Liam, Noel and the other lads that aren’t Liam or Noel, isn’t worth knowing. Another friend of mine, Pete, is an obsessive cyclist. You wouldn’t think cycling is the type of thing you could be obsessive about, but it is, so much so that Pete left his high-paid, high-up job in UK local government to go and work for a cycling charity. And very happy he is too, cycling away there.

I think the odd obsession – as long as it’s a healthy obsession (so that rules out Janet from the dry cleaners, you weirdo) – isn’t too bad a thing. Personally, I run multiple obsessions at any one time (trainers, records, football, series one to four of Only Fools And

Horses), switching between them as fast as you can say PayPal payments.

Here at What’s On, we have our own, unashamed obsession: brunch. We don’t just like brunch; we adore it, it’s our life, our love, our obsession.

This month, we’re overjoyed to say, we’re declaring brunch season open. And as the seasoned, expert, obsessive brunchers we are, we’ve put together a list to take your brunch to the next level (p26).

I’m also thrilled to say that this year’s What’s On Party In The Park event is back with an incredible line up that includes the awesome Chemical Brothers and… Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher. Oh yes, Matt. Oh yes.

Enjoy the issue.
