Monster magic

Whacky inventions and marvellous monsters at the Madinat

-

Direct from London’s West End comes Monstersaurus – a family friendly stage show at the Madinat. A young inventor named Monty creates a whole world of whacky creations and incredible monsters, only to end up with too many to keep an eye on. Unlock your mind and just go with it, says Sam Hoye, who plays Monty.

Tell us a bit about the storyline and who you play.

The story is about Monty who loves inventing but things don’t always work. Then he finds a special book that tells him how to invent a new monster friend, and with help from the audience, and some funny ingredients, he creates some weird and wonderful monsters. Chaos and magic ensue with lots of surprises along the way.

What’s your favourite part of the show?

I have lots of favourite moments in the show, but one of my very favourite parts is flying to the moon with Monstersaurus.

Did you ever create inventions when you were young?

I certainly did lots of inventing when I was young. I made lots of potions with my mum’s shampoo. They always smelt great.

If you could really create your own monster, what would they be like?

I would make a tidy-up monster who could eat up all the rubbish I leave in my bedroom. I’d call it Cleanasaurus. May 10 and 11 Theatre, Dubai, Thur 4pm, Fri 11am, 2pm, 4pm, Dh105. Tel: (04) 3666546. Taxi: Madinat. madinattheatre.com
