KHALIFÉ BLOWN GLASS

A short drive north of Tyre is the ramshackle and nondescript town of Sarafand. Its saving grace is Khalifé Blown Glass, a family-owned business that retains the local tradition of glass-blowing using a Phoenician oven. It produces a range of products including olive oil bottles, glasses and pitchers, all made from recycled glass.
