Legendary rockers Guns N’ Roses have been confirmed as the second headline act at the F1 After-Race concerts in Abu Dhabi in November

They’ve sold more than 100 million records worldwide, and now US rockers Guns N’ Roses are returning to the UAE – they’re the second act confirmed to perform at the Yasalam After Race concerts on F1 weekend later this year.

It’ll be the third time the band have performed in the emirates – they were in Dubai last year at the Autism Rocks Arena, and they also played on Yas Island back in March 2013. The Yas show, though, was before the band famously reformed in 2016. Lead singer Axel Rose and guitarist Slash hadn’t talked for more than 20 years until then, and the 2013 gig featured a completely different lineup to what fans will see this time round. This is also the closest you’ll ever get to seeing the band’s original 1987 line-up, with Slash, Rose and bass guitarist Duff McKagan all set for the capital.

During the band’s 30-year career, they’ve released six studio albums, won a host of music accolades and completed several world tours. Most famous for their hits Sweet Child O’ Mine, November Rain and Patience, the group are set to release a remastered, expanded version of their 1987 debut album Appetite For Destruction: Locked and Loaded on June 29.

“Guns N’ Roses are one of the all-time rock greats and welcoming the founding members to the du Arena to celebrate this milestone event makes it even more special,” says John Lickrish, CEO of event organiser Flash Entertainment.

This year’s race is the tenth F1 the UAE has held, and it takes place on Sunday, November 25. Race weekend will start on Thursday, November 22, with two further Yasalam music headliners set to be announced.

For this year’s race, ticket holders can also purchase Golden Circle upgrade tickets for the Yasalam After- Race Concerts, which offer the best access to viewing the gigs. Prices start from Dhs195.

Axel, Slash and company join the already announced The Weeknd on the line-up – the Canadian urban star will perform on Friday November 23. November 25
