It’s officially blockbuster season – Ocean’s 8, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Incredibles 2 are all in UAE cinemas this month

There’s no denying American actress Mindy Kaling is everywhere in 2018 – from starring alongside Oprah Winfrey in sci-fi adventure A Wrinkle In Time to her new television series Champions. Not bad for a girl from Massachusetts whose career began with a uni internship at TV show Late Night With Conan O’Brien. In Ocean’s 8, Mindy joins a badass line-up for the allfemale spin-off of the Ocean’s heist series.

What did you most enjoy about working with such a diverse group of women?

“Between Late Night, A Wrinkle In Time and Ocean’s 8, I think I’ve only acted with women, and all of the women I’ve acted with are over the age of 30 or 35. That’s really cool and really rare, to be in feature films where not everyone is a 22-year-old model. I love it!”

There’s a lot of expectations about a movie like Ocean’s

8. What are you most excited about audiences getting to see?

“It’s so good! I’m so proud of it. If you know the names of the people in the cast and you know a little bit about the premise, it’s a movie you’ll want to see. It’s fantastic!”

With such an a-list cast, how did you deal with the paparazzi?

“There were so many paparazzi there for Rihanna! I was talking to Anne Hathaway and Rihanna was behind us and there was a sea of paparazzi taking photos. I was kind of feeling famous and then Rihanna took a left to her trailer – which was not in the same direction that Anne and I were going – and the paparazzi left so quickly, it was like a desert.”
