THE BLUE GROTTO
Named for the spectacular luminous glow it gives off in sunlight, boating in the Blue Grotto can feel like an otherworldly experience – if you can avoid the crowds. The attraction makes it onto a number of cruise itineraries in summer, which can make it a somewhat manic experience. But head there during off-peak times and you’ll be rewarded with a truly magical sight.
Top tip: The best way to see the grotto is from the water itself. Hire a kayak for a journey into the cave itself, or join a group tour with a skipper – Kotor Bay Tours’ programme factors in swimming time.
