Hart to heart

-

Kevin Hart is one of the most sought-after comedians on the planet right now – the American actor has recently starred in blockbuster franchises Ride Along and Jumanji, and his current comedy world tour has surpassed one million ticket sales. In Night School, he plays a barbecue salesman who goes back to high school to finish his diploma.

Your company Hartbeat Productions has signed a first-look deal with Universal Studios. Why?

“Now, to do a movie with me, Hartbeat Productions has to produce it. A lot of people in the entertainment world haven’t really grasped the concept of ownership. When it’s all said and done, if the world ever decides to say, ‘We’re done with Kevin Hart,’ my brand and my business are still going to work.”

How long have you known co-star Tiffany Haddish?

“I knew Tiffany when Tiffany was homeless. Tiffany was living out of her car and nobody knew. She was trying to keep it a secret. In my pocket I had $300 and I was like, ‘I don’t know what your situation is, but hopefully this can do something for you in this time because I feel like you’re not telling me something. Until this day, she’s yet to bring up the money to give it back.”

How happy are you to be a father for the third time?

“It’s a boy so it’s a big deal, because the Hart name lives on. At the end of the day, you don’t want this greatness to stop and by greatness I’m referring to myself!”
