Diamonds and roses at Address Downtown, plus six new spas for you to try

With Dubai’s temperatures reaching 45°C the past few weeks, sun damage coupled with dehydration are everpresent skin risks. But the recently-opened The Spa at Address Downtown has a new treatment it claims will combat that – the Diamond Experience Rose Ritual. The 90-minute treatment is intended to revitalise and hydrate skin as well as make it silky and smooth.

The treatment rooms at The Spa are light and airy, with relaxation aided by cool temperatures and soothing music. We kicked off with our therapist spritzing rose water to get our body ready for exfoliation. Next, we were delicately exfoliated with a scrub that included damask rose and diamond dust followed by a diamond mist spray to close pores on the body. We were then massaged with diamond rose oil, the aim being to release tension and remove lingering sweat. The rose oil in particular is said to help with sun damage. The final part of the treatment was the application of rose touch to make the skin smoother and softer.

So, does it work? What’s On’s skin did feel softer – although those with sun damaged or very dehydrated skin may see a more noticeable difference. But we’d probably head back purely for its luxe offering and hospitable therapists. Granted, there’s no shortage of ultra-lux spas in the UAE but The Spa could well take the crown of being one of the most luxurious our team have visited, thanks to its private relaxation areas and Burj Khalifa views.
