AL MAHA DESERT RESORT

An hour outside of Dubai you’ll find Al Maha, a desert resort of luxury villas. Here, 43 pools run on solar panels, and flora and fauna are protected, with 70 endangered Arabian Onyx having been reintroduced into a protection area since 1999. Since their reintroduction, the Oryx have blossomed into more than 400, the largest free roaming herd of its kind in the UAE. Al Maha’s Nature Walk also follows a restricted track to minimise its carbon footprint and protect natural habitats.
