What can we expect from the popular foodie market this winter?
Ripe Market announces a new location, plus wander around the city’s outdoor markets
Community market Ripe is one of the most popular markets in Dubai and makes for a fun familyfriendly day out. According to its founder, Ripe Market is all about ‘supporting local, eating local and shopping local’.
For the winter season, Ripe has partnered with Dubai Police to host its new premises inside the Dubai Police Academy. In the new location, there will be a food village and pop-up shops, with workshops and talks on nutrition, health and fitness.
Ripe is also planning to create a park – including a permanent climbing wall and obstacle course – inside the venue, with activities aimed at visitors of all ages.
What can we expect from the new premises?
You can expect to find stalls from over one hundred local artisans and small businesses. Expect a selection of fresh bread, organic fruit and vegetables, locally created jams, chutneys and spreads, ice cream, coffee as well as vegan food.
Visitors can also pick up goods from local makers including handmade jewellery, fashion, arts and crafts and home décor.
There will also be yoga classes, kids’ activities, a petting zoo, workshops and live music.
Will Ripe’s other markets still be on-going?
In addition to its winter market, Ripe will continue to operate its other markets; the Times Square Market will be running until November 24, whilst in Abu Dhabi, there will be a weekly market on Saturdays from 3pm to 9pm in Umm Al Emarat Park. There will be live music, workshops, activities, alfresco eating and vendors selling food, fashion, beauty, art and locally grown fruit and vegetables. From late Nov until April 2019
