SOLE DXB STARTED LIFE INITIALLY AS A SNEAKER FESTIVAL. IS THERE STILL AN EMPHASIS ON FOOTWEAR?

The sneaker has become an icon for street culture, and the art, music and fashion that we represent does tie back to the sneaker. It is no longer simply a linear sneaker festival but there are a lot of exclusive drops and re-issues of limited editions, so yes, there is certainly still an emphasis on footwear.

WHO DO YOU CONSIDER TO BE YOUR TYPICAL AUDIENCE MEMBER?

This is an inclusive event, so anyone who grew up around hip-hop, art or basketball will appreciate it, but we also appeal to anyone with an open mind who would like to try something new.

IT’S MY FIRST TIME AT SOLE DXB – WHAT IS YOUR TOP TIP TO MAKE THE MOST OUT OF IT?

Check out the programme online, download the app and plan ahead. There is a lot going on. Also, come with an open mind and be prepared to get involved. Even we don’t know exactly what will happen as the outcome of the festival depends on those who come and take part.

IS IT A PLACE FOR KIDS?

Absolutely, every year we see more and more families coming as there is a fantastic atmosphere for everyone. I would say that after the sun sets, it is more suited for grown-ups only.
