Othello is the first play to be staged at Dubai Opera

Widely re­garded as one of Shake­speare’s most mod­ern plays, Othello has been the sub­ject of hun­dreds of in­ter­pre­ta­tions since its de­but in 1604. But it’s the lat­est pro­duc­tion, fresh from a crit­i­cally­ac­claimed British tour, that has set tongues wag­ging here in Dubai.

Reimag­ined and di­rected by Richard Twyman, Othello has been gar­ner­ing col­umn inches in the UK for months, thanks to the buzz sur­round­ing lead ac­tor Vic­tor Oshin, who is, as­ton­ish­ingly, mak­ing his stage de­but.
