Quoz Art Fest returns
Celebrate art, urban culture and sustainability in Alserkal
The seventh annual edition of Quoz Arts Fest at Alserkal Avenue returns with a brand new theme: CTRL+ALT+ACTION. The aim behind it is to educate and inspire visitors on the subject of sustainability. This month, all visitors to the twoday festival will be asked to make a sustainability-related pledge – a kind of eco-friendly New Year’s resolution.
In keeping with the theme Quoz Art Fest’s Good Vibes Market will host food truck brands that embrace sustainability. There will also be workshops on how to look after the environment as well as fitness activities and a daily keynote speech covering the topic of going green. As always, curated tours take place across all the gallery exhibitions, with live music, performances, film screenings and pop-up retail concepts scattered across Alserkal Avenue.
Look out for an exciting interactive art installation that takes the form of a mini-golf course entitled Putting for Pleasure and Politics: A Playable Sculpture Garden curated and produced by David Darts. He selected artists Hashel Al Lamki, Wendy Bednarz, Jonny Farrow, Jill Magi, Sandra Peters, Craig Protzel, Goffredo Puccetti, Laura Schneider and John Torreano to each design a hole on the course.
Lastly, as part of the annual Asia Contemporary Art Week’s scheduling, a two-day art forum or Field Meeting will take place to connect arts professionals. Invited presenters will share their most significant and recent projects through newly-commissioned performances, lecture performances, curatorial talks, and a string of pop-up exhibitions encompassing multiple media.
