Glass Half Jackson
According to Google, Samuel L Jackson has appeared in ‘at least 126’ films – his greatest hits include Jungle Fever, Pulp Fiction and Unbreakable. In Glass, Jackson reprises his role in the latter as the crafty Elijah Price aka Mr Glass who takes on the antagonist from another M Night Shymalan thriller – Split’s multiple personalityridden Kevin Crumb.
How did you find out you would have the opportunity to play Elijah again?
“I watched Split, and at the end of it, we get Bruce in the café and the woman talks to him about Mr. Glass. I was like, ‘so are we gonna make this movie?’ And Night says, ‘Well, it depends on the opening weekend.’”
What can we expect from Elijah this time around?
“All of a sudden, my character has the thing he wanted: the good guy, the bad guy, and I get to be in the middle of them. It has a distinct satisfaction if you remember what his theory was all along, that there are people out here with extraordinary powers who can do extraordinary things. And it’s amazing to watch James have an argument with four different characters in front of my face.”
And you’re also giving Frozone another goaround in
Incredibles 2? “[Reprising roles] validates that you’ve made a character who’s lasting, that it brings them joy, which is an important thing about the entertainment business.”
