Quarantine date nights and family occasions call for a Mexican takeout

exican food’s a crowd pleaser, isn’t it? Whether you’re a meat eater, vegetarian, vegan, or somewhere in between, the cuisine is malleable enough to suit all tastes and intolerances. It’s also delicious and downright comforting. So even though most of us are self-isolating and social-distancing, we still need to get our Mexican comfort food fix somehow. Luckily, for Abu Dhabi residents, stalwart Loca is offering takeout and delivery. And now that traffic’s at an all-time low, there’s even more reason to order pick-up.

The condensed menu still boasts enough of the restaurant’s superb appetisers and entrees to make your at-home meal feel memorable – like the deliciously creamy guacamole, the fully-loaded nachos, and the chicken quesadillas, which are served in takeout form as cylindrical cheesy wraps. The shrimp fajitas are a decent size for sharing and travel far better than its beef counterparts (which after a 15-minute journey are a bit chewier than you’d normally get them), and the pots of sour cream, salsa and rice help make it more of a heartier home-meal.

Look out for the special daily delivery offers. On Tuesdays, it’s buy-one-get-one free on tacos, on Thursdays it’s Dhs85 for ribs, and on Fridays you can order brunch at home for just Dhs93 from noon to 5pm.
