Opening during the Covid-19 pandemic hasn’t put pamperseekers off visiting this hidden gem in JVC
New skincare hotspot, The Branding Room, opened its doors in July offering a range of indulgent facials, which promise to leave you with that all-important glow. And we’ve got to say, after drying out our skin in air conditioning during the summer months, we’re here for it.
Using all the latest technology and techniques, the range of treatments available includes 30-minute express caviar collagen masks, radio frequency lightening, and brightening HydraCool Plus remedies.
We’re greeted by a super-friendly team who offer us coffee and snacks as we sit down and wait for our brief consultation with the founder, Mae. It’s always a bit daunting in these scenarios to admit you’re a ‘once-a-day, quick cleanse and moisturise’ kind of girl, but there’s no judgement here. Mae suggests a few quick fixes for our skincare routine, like introducing a serum, but nothing that makes us feel too overwhelmed.
We instantly fall in love with the toneddown decor of The Branding Room, which shuns the usual over-feminine vibe, and instead favours a comfortable and sleek New York loft style, with industrial grey flooring, interesting artwork and trendy mid-century seating.
Time to settle in for some pampering as we meet our therapist, the lovely Bishnu. The next hour or so passes by blissfully as our skin is thoroughly cleansed, exfoliated, massaged and moisturised. We’ve asked for gentle products and nothing too invasive due to our sensitive skin, and Bishnu is thoroughly mindful of this as she explains each step of our Probiotic facial (Dhs650) with care. We particularly appreciate the ultrasonic extractions, which painlessly whip-off those pesky blackheads of ours, while the face massage almost sends us off to slumber town. The CO2 jelly facemask is cooling and we’re treated to a hand massage while it does its thing, all adding to the feeling of zen.
We don’t know about you, but facials have never been high up on our to-do list when it comes to beauty treatments. But our experience at The Branding Room has shown us that as a monthly treat, this is a self-care moment that you don’t want to miss out on.
