Not to be confused with the powdery green tea, Matcha Club is the relatively new padel and wellness club in Al Quoz. It oozes hip Palm Springs appeal with burnt orange padel courts, two beautiful wellness studios, and the just-opened Nette café that serves proper elevated café grub. After a spectacular loss on the padel courts – I’m still learning, OK? – I like to eat my feelings with a delicious plate of poached eggs on toast with brown miso butter. @matchadxb

There are few things that can get me to work out on a weekend, especially as a serial fitness class-phobe. But The Platform’s Sunday spin class is the exception to this rule. I actually really enjoy it. For 45 minutes, instructor Sarah pairs a set of epic, energypacked tunes to an array of challenging sprints, hill climbs and weights tracks, inspiring the whole class to get involved. The team behind Tania’s Teahouse has opened up a new venue called Sereni-tea nestled in Umm Sequeim. It’s not the pretty pink hues that you would find in the first branch, but the hygge design is still so warm and inviting. After my ‘eggs ben-addict’, you’ll find me on the outdoor patio, sipping tea, soaking up the good weather and enjoying a catchup with the bestie. @taniasteachouse

Did you know there’s a secret alfresco bar in Burj Al Arab? Uma is only open to visitors who take the Inside Burj Al Arab tour (from Dhs249). Right now it’s only open for drinks, but it has great views of the city and sunset to enjoy once you’ve finished the tour. @insideburjalarab
