Volkswagen Golf GTI
Volkswagen has evolved
the seventh generation GTI only ever so slightly, improving 10 per cent of pretty much every one of the hot-hatchback’s components. That 10 per cent accounts for a significant leap, actually, when you consider that the carried-over 2.0-litre four-pot gains an entirely new cylinder head design and turbo trickery, improved suspension and brakes, 42kg less weight thanks to the new MQB modular platform, better infotainment, and hugely effective electronic driver assists. The GTI Performance Pack is 10bhp stronger than the stock GTI, and gets torque vectoring and electronic limited slip differential.
