Homeward bound, and blue

- 06.05.2016 • volume 32 • issue 12

It happens to me every time I go on vacation, and then return “home” ( wherever that might be, at any given point of my somewhat peripatetic life). Post- travel blues. So what if the place I’d just been to doesn’t really qualify as being one of the top spots according to Lonely Planet or tripadvisor. com or wknd. magazine? It’s probably the prospect of coming back to routine, predictability and ( lest we forget) work. When I was in school, and we had holidays, I would feel miserable going back to school even if we hadn’t travelled out of town and I’d been basically holed up at home. Ever heard of eco- friendly rag dolls that are charitably personalised? Probably not. So here’s your chance to meet someone who’s spearheading a doll house mission with a heart. Summer is glaring down upon us so get set with an entirely new beauty regimen. And for those nutritionally inclined, get a health boost with this week’s line- up of cool smoothies.

The big- screen, 007- licensed question these days is: who will be the next Bond, James Bond? Your guess is as good as ours, but it’s clear it won’t be the beefy Daniel Craig. Read Pursuits for more intelligence on the world’s best known spy’s cinematic avatar. Bollywood takes a look at those actresses who have chosen to remain acting powerhouses rather than opting for the glammed up route to quick fix- dom. All this and much more.

Enjoy reading wknd. and have a great weekend.
