5 This one is all about time man­age­ment — im­por­tant ver­sus ur­gent. You have ur­gent things that shout at you and most peo­ple tend to do those things first, be­cause they’re noisy. But you also have im­por­tant things that are im­por­tant for you and your busi­ness. A lot of times we feel like we’ve been re­ally busy all day but we can’t, for the life of us, re­mem­ber what we’ve done. That’s be­cause we’ve spent all our time on the ‘ ur­gent’ stuff. Fo­cus­ing helps you to stop pro­cras­ti­nat­ing and do the tough stuff. Al­ways com­plete two or three big tasks early in the day. You’ll feel much bet­ter about the day ahead, and re­ally good in the end.
