Chandni took me to a restaurant, ordered my favourite meal and refused to budge until i finished it

-

Imet Chandni Prasad in my second year of university in Pune. We actually met through a mutual friend but soon our obsession with Harry Potter and sweets had us bonding. While I was in university, I went through this phase when I decided that I wanted to be skinny. I started exercising a lot… and stopped eating. It got pretty bad, because suddenly, I was down to only one meal a day, and it was affecting my health. One day, Chandni took me to this restaurant behind college, ordered my favourite dish, and refused to let me leave until I had finished everything on the plate. At that moment, I both loved and hated her. I had to struggle to finish that simple meal — it took me two hours, but she refused to budge throughout that time. After I was finally done, she ordered lemonade so I could ‘ keep the meal down’ and stayed over at my place to make sure I was alright.

Chandni made me understand that what I was doing was not healthy and she helped me get better. Even though we do not live in the same country anymore, she has been my best friend ever since. We video chat every week, and are constantly in touch through Whatsapp. We meet twice a year, and I’m actually travelling to Pune next week just so I can see her again.

I’m so thankful for everything she has done for me. She taught me that friendship means having someone who knows when you need them the most, without you even having to ask.
