“Know, love and believe in what you are doing”
What led you to start the fashion exhibition? En Vogue by AAJK was conceived by friends, for friends who love to shop together!
What is your # 1 personal principle/ success mantra at work? My success mantra all these years has been “Know, love and believe in what you’re doing!”
What is one important skill you think every professional should have? Never give up on your dreams. I believe that everything else will fall into place.
What has been your most challenging experience to date and what you did to resolve it? We all face our share of challenges in life, be it at work or at home. For me, it was rather difficult to shift from a corporate background into the glamorous world of fashion! However, I strived to be the best, and slowly and steadily, I was able to make a mark. It was all about having the right people by your side.
Who’s your role model as the perfect professional? Like every daughter, my first hero is my father, and so, when it comes to business as well, my father is my ultimate role model. I have seen him handling business affairs all my life and he does so with patience and perseverance.
If you had one free hour in the day to relieve stress, how would you use it? I would find the nearest beach, sit down, and catch the sunset. That’s pure bliss
Any advice for aspiring entrepreneurs? The first step for any entrepreneur is to identify your goals. Then comes the harder part of achieving those goals. If there’s one thing I learned, it’s that perseverance and patience are the key words.
What is your greatest dream, professionally? Now that I’ve worked so hard to create a brand name, I want to see it succeed. I hope it reaches many different countries in the years to come. If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it? Firstly, winning a million dollars would truly be a dream come true! I would definitely go on a nice, month- long holiday with my family and do my best to make it a memorable trip. The next thing I would do is donate a portion to charity. I would definitely save some for the future of my lovely daughters. And I would put the rest away — you never know when you might need it, and I tend to squirrel away savings for the unexpected.
