While rummaging through some old documents, I came across a handwritten letter from my grandmother during my early days in Dubai. It evoked nostalgic memories of the pre- mobile and email era. In those days, the only way to keep oneself entertained during the daily bus and train commutes was to converse with fellow commuters ( i. e. total strangers), which often enriched interpersonal and life skills. The picture painted by Love Interuptus ( Sept 16) reveals the massive change brought on by digitalisation.

Every revolution brings in benefits and challenges. But it is up to us to steer digital challenges and channel them into benefits. And that cannot be so hard! Simply look at the wealth of apps and social media platforms that actually help people meet face to face. It proves that technology is only as good as its users.
