Leave trump alone

Accepting things the way they are and coming to terms with the situation one cannot change is wisdom ( Matthew Mcconaughey, Drumpf and the Hater app, Feb 10). Donald Trump is the US President now and will continue to be one for the next four years. A pragmatic approach would be to pray that he serves well and proves his mettle. There is a need to see the bigger picture. Why is it that common hatred or hostility towards someone brings people together? As correctly stated, love for Obama or Clinton didn’t bring people any closer, though that should have been a natural outcome.

Horror is my favourite genre ( my spouse claims he understands exactly where this fascination comes from). Recently, I sat down to binge- watch the Netflix series Stranger Things. Terrific special effects, superb acting and sharp writing makes it a ‘ must- watch’. ( I completely doted on Gaten Matarazzo as the chubby, young Dustin.) — Anamika Chatterjee Most fragrances give me a headache. So, if I find one I like, I earnestly pray the brand doesn’t discontinue the line. Crystal Noir by Versace is divine: delicately feminine, without being cloying. Bought a 50ml bottle for Dh149 from Xpressions at Safeer Mall. There are travel- sized editions too, so it’s on my person in more ways than one! — Karen Ann Monsy
