£195 Can the Morris handle the worst of weather?

220 Triathlon Magazine - - KIT ZONE -

Castore are a premium men’s sportwear brand set up in 2016 by two brothers – an ex-pro footballer and a former cricketer – on a mission to create ‘the best sportswear in the world’. As we’ve seen on Métier’s Race Layer [see right] Castore have also infused graphene into the Italian mesh fabric to aid with sweat wicking and temperature regulation. Although the effect wasn’t as noticeable on a looser-fitting jacket, it appeared to keep us comfortable and free of excess sweat build-up on our test runs. The fabric is also waterproof and, during a downpour, the jacket kept out the worst of the weather with aplomb. We found the cut across the shoulders to be a bit boxy and a little restrictive compared to more form-fitting run jackets we’ve used. There are also two discreet pockets either side, but their placement right on the hips makes them quite difficult to access when running. Overall, we feel the Morris is an excellent utility sports garment, but we don’t know if it’s the perfect option for running specifically. The sizes are also much bigger compared to most run jackets, with a medium recommended for a 40-42 inch chest, so check the size chart before you buy.
