£180 The top Italian bike bag brand move into the endurance saddle arena with their debut Elan

Scicon are best known for their top-end bike bags, but here’s their debut racing saddle that’s targeted at endurance athletes.

The goal for the Italian brand at the conception stage was to produce a saddle that merges performance and comfort in both an aggressive race position and a more relaxed cycling style.

The result is an ergonomic perch built on carbon fibre rails, and boasting a drainage channel/central cutout and short nose design to remove pressure from the soft tissue area and promote hip rotation. It measures 148mm by 248mm, weighs 199g and Scicon pitch it as one-size-fits-all. It comes in a standalone version for £180 and a special edition package (£219), complete with saddle bag kit, including inner tube, patch kit, tyre levers and adapter for a C02 cartridge.
