CRAFT RIME
£80 We’re fans of Craft, especially their range of base layers. And Craft’s Rime jacket will certainly see you through until spring, coming in as the thickest on test. Craft’s ‘performance polyester’ of choice is called ‘Ventair’, whose main role is to deflect wind. It achieves this with aplomb while providing a smattering of waterresistance. A brushed fleece inner adds comfort, though we’d appreciate the addition of a material like elastane as it lacks the real stretch seen on the others on test here, so the fit’s not quite as slick. The thickness of the jacket – while good for warmth but not to the detriment of breathability – heightens that lack of flexibility. One rear zipper pocket is the only storage option, though it’s a large one, and hundreds of reflective squares along the back of the shoulders are a welcome nod to safety. craftsportswear.co.uk
