How­ever, a re­cent lit­er­a­ture re­view demon­strated that tart cherry juice may not be use­ful for gen­eral daily train­ing dur­ing the adap­tive phase, but in­stead has an im­por­tant role to play in in­tense, sin­gle-day train­ing or com­pe­ti­tion, or over the course of multi-day events when re­cov­ery is the pri­or­ity over adap­ta­tion.
