220 Triathlon Magazine - - KIT ZONE - newbal

£90 With a low 19mm stack height and a lithe weight (245g), the Summit Unknowns are the shoes to pick for grassy parkruns and short, fast efforts on less technical terrains. They perform on both roads and lighter trails, and lend themselves to summer racing with the breathable upper. The shallow 4mm lugs help with all-things speed, but also limit their appeal in terms of only adequate traction and a lack of under-the-arch protection. Despite the ‘Toe Protect’ label, they possess a slender bumper and the narrow toe box won’t suit wider feet. The tongue also has trouble staying in place.
