But here the impressively agile weight (248g) and narrow fit are joined by superior multidirectional lugs and a waterproof upper for running (and hiking) in the wet. But where they fall down is the firm and unforgiving ride; we’re a fan of feeling the trails but this was just too harsh, and we certainly felt the aches the day after running in these. We mentioned hiking as these – with the subtle good looks, strong grip and waterproofing – almost feel more adept at mountain walking than endurance running.
