£125 We were asked by a friend to list the shoes we’d been testing and, after reeling off nine, we just couldn’t remember the final item. That was the Gel-FujiTrabuco 6, a shoe that ticks most boxes but rarely excels. At 326g, they’re the second heaviest here and, if lighter than previous FujiTrabucos, that’s still 100g more than the Hokas. Plus points include the waterproof upper, the seamless internal construction and heel support. The 8mm drop is racey enough and the tongue loop has race-day transition appeal, but the slender lugs won’t handle more technical trail terrain.
