£140 The Supertrac Ultra RC are siblings of the Supertrac RCs from Scott, the latter being our trail star of last year thanks to their jagged mud-shedding grips, speed-inviting form and tough-as-nails build. The Ultra RC offer even deeper lugs, a less-aggressive 8mm drop and more midsole comfort than the standard RC, but also a mighty extra 100g in weight to 349g – and that bulk is certainly apparent when on the move. While the fabric on the upper feels hugely durable for ultra-running, we have reservations over the firmness of that outsole for extended trail outings and the blister-creating arch.
